Can you imagine caring enough about something, about a community to meet in an old chicken coop? That's exactly what the first members of the First Baptist Church of Channahon did. They met in an old chicken coop on Fryer Street and began to work with God to develop a church, and ministries to serve the Channahon community. That old chicken coop is still part of the existing facility, it's been converted now, you would never know it had we not told you. From those humble beginnings, First Baptist Church of Channahon grew and continues today to serve the Channahon community. God has called us to leave that chicken coop behind though and to build on 26 acres just off of Route 6 in Channahon.


It's a big calling for a once small church. The estimated cost of the total project is in excess of 6 million dollars. But we believe we have a big God and that He can, and will, carry out the actions required to see the project completed. As part of that, we believe He might be calling you right now to give to this project. Even the smallest amounts help make reality of the vision God has called us to. Our new facilities will house our school (Families of Faith Christian Academy, FOFCA for short), 2 baseball / softball fields, a football / soccer field, 2 gymnasiums with basketball / volleyball courts, larger classrooms for Sunday School and our school, a 750 seat sanctuary and more.

	Our new facilities will allow an expansion of our current ministries. Ministries such as You Are Wonderfully Made, an effort to reach out to those who have disabilities and their families. A full scale youth program that not only teaches youth how to worship, but how to lead and offers programs to them all the way through their college years.

	A place where All-Stars Sports can teach young people not only how to play, but uses sports to teach them about the love of Jesus Christ. Facilities where Seniors who want to worship can do so without having to climb stairs, all of the facilities will be ground level.

These new facilities will allow us to expand our Outreach Ministry, allow our Touch Team to touch more peoples lives. Will allow our Prayer Team the opportunity to expand and to pray for even more people. The new facility will be more kid friendly making programs such as TeamKid and Christ's Toolbox to be even more effective. We do all these things so that we might have the chance to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with more people.
That's our bottom line mission. Spread the Gospel, see people come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. To see the baptismal waters flow as people, young and old, testify to the world visually what Jesus has done in their life. Would you join us? We are asking for three year commitments, but we will accept whatever commitment God leads you to make.
