U.S. Facts

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 53 million Americans have disabilities, 33 million of which are severe. Therefore, 33 million American families deal daily with extra doctors visits, special care needs and socially-created obstacles to fit in with the "social norm".

One obstacle these families face is a lack of acceptance in churches. About 90 percent of special needs families are un-churched!

Do you know someone with a disability? God does......He created them!!

The "You Are Wonderfully Made" Special Needs Ministry reaches out to families and children that have all kinds of disabilities and hindrances.

We exist to empower those in our community with disabilities through God's Word and God's love. You will get the opportunity to attend worship services for adults and children.

That's right!! Everyone gets a chance to be actively involved in the life of the church!!

“You are Wonderfully Made”

A Special Needs Ministry

“I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

— Psalm 139:14

Do you have a child, family member, or friend with special needs? Are you looking for a place where they can be loved and accepted? Perhaps a place where they can feel free to fellowship and worship the Lord in their own special way?

Well, here is some good news for you and your family! A NEW Special Needs Ministry has been developed called, “You are Wonderfully Made.” The purpose of this ministry is to minister to those with physical disabilities; mental, social and emotional impairments; learning differences, including ADD, ADHD, Autism, CP, etc. While understanding the needs of God’s “wonderfully made,” this ministry will create an environment whereby the good news of Jesus will be taught in a variety of learning capabilities.

One of the major aspects of Jesus Christ's earthly ministry involved outreach to children and to individuals with all kinds of disabilities. In fact, they were at the forefront of much of what happened in the Gospels. Through these individuals, God showed His great love and compassion for all people! In following our Lord's example, the Church is to reach out to similar people with special needs.

Pastor John Carr and his wife Gail are the parents of a special needs child and have been called to serve the Lord and His church by serving those with special needs and their families.

Pastor John and his family have a vision to…

bullet

Provide the opportunity for those with special needs to grow physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually.

bullet

Develop a ministry for families experiencing a disability that is a natural part of the church life, not an unnatural one.

bullet

Show the love of Jesus Christ and present the message of salvation to everyone.

It is their desire that people living with disabilities, as well as their families, come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. They also want to help enable them to stretch beyond their physical and mental limitations to share their gifts with the church body. They believe people with disabilities should have the opportunity to learn and grow in their Christian faith through a loving, nurturing and safe environment.
